Eliot's Knockout Punch

Forget steamrollers. We're on to a new metaphor.

A source who attended this morning's breakfast with Eliot Spitzer at the Grand Hyatt -- a thank you event for some donors -- reports that Spitzer briefly touched on his confrontation with the legislature.

"You win some, you lose some," my source reports Spitzer said. "But those you lost to should know that a knockout punch is coming."

The Governor's hyperbole needs to stop.  It does nothing to change the culture of Albany, which was his alleged mandate.  He is a few short steps away from telling fellow elected officials that he is going to "eat their children".

Elliot finds the democrats harder to beat then the republicans. Will he go running to daddy?

Time will tell

At least we know who the real steamroller is. and just think, Shelly only works part time, imagine what he could do if he worked 5 days a week.

Spitzer is starting to sound like Tony Soprano.  Tough is good. Being a thug is not.

Will Spitzer support sniper candidates in 2008 Assembly races? (Friendly Democrats to run against incumbents in the primary.) I think that's the real test of whether he's serious about reform.

On Day One we were wondering if Joe Bruno would have to resign. How is it that the news just stopped faster than pork barrel spending for the minority? Is Joe really so powerful he can buy his way clean? Or were deal made to keep him safe? After the Comptroller scandal--and it is scandalous that favoritism trumped qualifications--one might wonder if those deals would break down.

Did anyone else find it pathetic that, not only did the legislature vote for one of it's own, but that nearly all members voted exactly like they were told to by their leaders?

Hey, Spitzer, Albert Baldeo is the guy you need in Albany. They lied about him having a temper, too, but you know it comes from a desire to end cronyism and carry through the reform agenda. Soon, someone of these loonies will claim that you pulled a gun on them, and get their sleazy DA's to turn his back while you are arrested. Al will partner with you, and Malcolm Smith, and teach those old slime ball so called "democrats"-like Tony Seminerio, Joe Addabbo and Audrey Pheffer what loyalty and pride in your party means. Throw them a bone, Maltese.

"Albert a  Protege"? oh please. this is one self servicing, egocentric, delusional, nutcase.  Albert will bring shame in Albany. My vote is for Addabbo. Go Joe!
