SUOZZI: FIRE SILVER AND BRUNO
Democratic Candidate for Governor Calls for Replacement of Entire Albany Leadership
ALBANY, NY - Speaking at the Reform New York Day of Action Conference, Democratic candidate for Governor Tom Suozzi this morning called for the replacement of Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority Joseph Bruno.
"We must demand that the Speaker of the New York State Assembly and the Majority Leader of the New York State Senate be replaced, because they have failed to fight for the reforms that we seek," said Suozzi. "The current leadership in Albany has had ample opportunity to heed the message of reform and address the problems New Yorkers face, but they have spent far more energy making backroom deals to protect their own majorities."
"New York belongs to the nearly twenty million people who call our State home, not to three men in a room in Albany," added Suozzi. "With Governor Pataki on his way out, it is time to show Majority Leader Bruno and Speaker Silver the door, as well."
Two weeks ago, Tom Suozzi called for greater use of the political process to achieve meaningful reform, linking New York's problems to a lack of competitive elections and the accountability they bring. He repeated that call to action today:
"In a State with so may serious problems and so many legislators not doing enough to solve them, a re-election rate of nearly 99% hardly seems consistent with the principles of competitive democracy," said Suozzi. "We need to give New Yorkers competitive elections and we need to empower our representatives to do the jobs they were hired to do. And if they don't do their jobs, we need to fire them."
Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi is the founder of Fix Albany, a movement to bring accountability to New York's dysfunctional State legislature.

All hose Republican contractors have eft an asbestos plague. Before they invaded New York in 1993, we were trying to force anyone selling his property to remove all asbestos. But we have egg-shell plaster which is one third asbests, we have asbestos shingles and floor tiles, and we keep getting lung cancer like crazy so the Republican contactors can run the worlds.
