Positive Thinking

Score (152)LikeDislike

- Listen to local people and their issues - community leaders don't always reflect the true problems of a location (special interests take hold and strangle voices of reason).
- Central New York vs down state has and will continue to be a 'thorn' which keeps oozing unless you can change the thinking of 'so-called' legislative leaders. These people only have political interests of big spenders and the little guy gets left behind.
- Indian Land Claim (it's not my problem) this is all we hear in our area from outside people who have no clue as to what the consequencies will be if this is not settled and without giving the farm away.
- Casino's no more, the one in our area is and has been illegal and action should be taken to end this unlawful business. Taxes must be collected on their selling of items to non-indians and property taxes must be paid to local communities.
- Local and State taxes are out of control - spending and borrowing in this state is unacceptable and must be brought under control. Unelected people designated to state authorities who make decisions which create tax spending without voter input. These dollars should be part of the legislative process in referdum form by the voters of the state.
- Education spending is never ending but our graduation rates are appauling. We keep throwing money at the problem but no accountability by administrators, teachers, etc. until that happens nothing will change except higher taxes. The state lottery dollars were suppose to go for Education but instead go into the General Fund (unacceptable).
- Albany mentality needs major changes, three men in a room needs to end. The Governor must show leadership and bite the bullet on this unacceptable practice. I for one want my vote to count for something when I cast it for my representative both in the Assembly and Senate of the State of New York.
