The Daily Troopergate

The Daily Troopergate
Further to my multi-part (and oft criticized) critique of the gone and all-but-forgotten New York Times New York Political Blog the Empire Zone (which I dubbed the "Suozzi Zone" for it's incessant coverage of Tom Suozzi's gubenatorial campaign last year), I'm ready to dub the Daily News' New York City political blog the Daily Politics, the "Daily TrooperGate." I decided to come out of semi-retirement to post on this, because the Daily News' political blog has been bugging the hell out of me.

I do think the issue of the Executive Branch snooping on the opposition party's probable misuse of state aircraft is important and should be covered, but it seems like every single tidbit of minutia or article written on the topic becomes a post or link on that blog. I'm sorry, Fred Dicker is not an unbiased source who should be linked to every time diarrhea falls out of his mouth onto the pages of his column on this topic. Is this the New York Daily News' or the New York Post's blog?

I understand that Liz is from the Albany paper and does not have the connections in New York City politics that the editor of a New York City political blog really should, but this does not excuse the fact that her blog is more obsessed with the so-called "Troopergate" scandal than many 12 year old girls are with Justin.

Liz, how about going out and making some actual city contacts and getting some real scoops instead of regurgitating your Google News Subscription?

Okay, I feel a little better now.
