Monserrate needs a job, right? And he's in full campaign mode? And the Dems in CD 29 are having trouble finding a candidate, right? See where this is heading?
Monserrate is a resident of the state, which is the threshhold for Congress - Paterson can call the election, and get out in front with an endorsement. Paterson can spend the entire campaign criss-crossing CD 29 with Monserrate, day after day. Neither of these guys are ever going to be accused of having tickle fights with male satff members, and it could be just the shot in the arm the Dems up there need to revive flagging hopes.
Great idea, huh? Plus it gets Paterson out of Albany for a while.
Come to think of it, whay doesn't Paterson just go away on vacation for the rest of the year? Out of state? He keeps his pension clock ticking, but Ravitch becomes acting governor, and the grownups can take care of things in his extended absence.

Why would you want a scumbag like Monserrate out of the state senate and in the U.S. House of Representatives? Besides, why put this P.O.S. in as the Rep of the nice people of CD-29?

Let me assure you that I'm the real thing, and not a sock puppet for Gatemouth or anyone else. With my assent, Gate shared with folks here my more... creative... solutions to a couple of political problems vexing the city and state of New York.
One of my modest proposals was meant most sarcastically. The other... well, it's a way out for everyone. Kind of a Big Bill O'Dwyer without the U.S. Senate confirmation.
