Tasni broke 25% only in the following City ADs: 48 (Borough Park), 62 (South Shore Staten Island), 23  (White Rockaways, Broad Channel, Howard Beach, Ridgewood), 44 (Flatbush, Kensignton, Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Borough Park), 45 (Sheepshead Bay, Brghton Beach, Midwood), 49 (Dyker Height, Borough Park), 60 (Staten Island, Bay Ridge), 66 (Greenwich Village). Most of these are unquestionable conservative, having gone for Bush and Pataki on the votes of conservative Democrats. Only the 66th is consistently liberal. The 44th contains a mixture of both the left and right. The fact that the right may have made the difference is that Tasini did better there than in the 52nd, which contains just as much Park Slope, as well as other very liberal areas like Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Dumbo, and Boerum Hill (which went for Charlie Barron). In the classically UWS 67th AD, Tasini did not break 20%, let alone 25%. Perhaps he should run for Mayor of Ithaca, because liberal did not support him in the City.

    The WFP claims they are after this demographic though usually their votes come from Park Slope and the Village.  I've always thought that they tended to push the regular Dems to the right by providing a useless outlet for the left.  Tasini may have caught this wave in the Democratic primary.  I voted for him.
