While the timely and accurate reporting of elections returns is an extremely desirable public good, and the Board of Elections’ refusal to use the technology within its grasp is inexcusable, I'd give kudos to any reporter who moves on from focusing on delays in reporting the 13th CD machine count, which was completed last week, and instead starts reporting on the substantive complaints concerning how the election was conducted and whether they add up to something or not. Several people made Vito the central figure. In areas I wasn’t known it may have, but I don’t think it was a factor at all. I don’t know how much of a negative impact it was. I can’t say specifically they didn’t go for me because I was supported by Vito Lopez. There could have been tons of reasons why they didn’t support me.
