Like the "Longinus" of the longtime Christian Good Friday tradition, service with the Legions of Rome could have led one into many interesting situations. Nobody noticed when the attacks were just intra-mural Republican hits carried out on insurgent Republicans, but lately the attacks have targeted many Democratic incumbents -- and not just Carl Kruger. Several people inside the GOP have even referred to the JIG IS UP and its writers as Craig Eaton's "Frankenstein's Monster". Only recently, have they  taken on ROOM EIGHT and "Gatemouth" head-on.

There have been rumors that GOP Chairman Craig Eaton's might soon pull the plug on THE JIG IS UP ATLAS. However, people like Russell Gallo, a Republican District Leader and the new head of a newly recreated Brooklyn Young Republicans Club, would view that as an open rebuke to him that would diminish his place in the Kings County Republican organization. Many in the Brooklyn GOP leadership are afraid that Gallo and his "cohorts" would possibly lash back in an unpredictable fashion.

Me thinks that all of this hub bub about the Brooklyn Republicans, young Republicans clubs and Atlas blogs is just the very dictionary definition of much ado about nothing.

The Jig is a primitive, childish attempt by those in the Brooklyn GOP to (unsuccessfully) balance the lunatic ravings of Jonathan Judge's Atlas hate blog.

For all its faults, and there are many, the Jig's transgressions pale in comparison to those of Jonathan and Atlas.

You need look no further than Atlas' President's Day 2011 remarks about Lincoln's assassination being the lawful act of a group of patriotic Americans, and that the Confederate Army of 1861-1865 was the last best hope of men on earth.

I won't get into the Atlas attacks on the wives and children (including those with rare genetic diseases) of GOP leaders, who have been the target of Atlas' meanspirited and cowardly assaults.

Jonathan and his Atlas cohorts are a bunch of craven cowards who would never dare say such things to someone's face.

They prefer to lurk in the shadows of the online world, pretending to be reformers and leaders. They are neither. As many have long wondered, how is it that the (then) President of the Brooklyn Young Republicans (at age 23) got a $46,000 a year job with his local Community Board?

Howard, you and most of the readers of this blog know full well that Community Boards are one of the last bastions of Democratic clubhouse patronage in NYC. Jonathan Judge has such a patronage job because, not despite, his GOP pedigree. Someone in the Brooklyn Democratic Party wants him to have that job, and clearly wants him as a thorn in the side of the Brooklyn GOP.

Have you ever wondered why that is? Surely you don't think he got the job via an ad in the classifieds, do you?

My position in this war is that Republicans should be ridculous bumblers who can't win; Judge does seem better suited at that task, but the folks at "The Jig" are certainly trying to give him a run for the money.

The rest of your point is lost on me. Because of the area's centralized location and ethnic diversity, Board 14 is split between many electeds, and with no faction guaranteed control, has sort of evolved its own independent culture. There are politics, but they are not really "partisan politics."

Anyway, does Marty Markowitz, who together with the Councilmembers, appoint CB14's members, really care about hurting Republicans? When was th elast time he backed a demcorat for mayor? Did he even endorse Golden's opponent last year? 

Which person who's put apppointees on 14 care about hurting Golden? David Greenfield, who Golden helped elect? Mattheiu Eugene, who gave Golden money?   

In order to believe Judge got a job because of a Machivellian plot by Dems to hurt the GOP, you would have to believe they cared. Moreover, you would have to believe they cared about hurting Marty Golden.

I ask you to point to one piece of evidence that the Kings County Demcoratic Party cares about hurting Marty Golden.

Such evidence does not exist.      

I did not get involved here because I care about the Brooklyn GOP's internal battles. My objection to "The Jig" is in its latest series of attacks on local Demcorats (many of whom I will stipulate are turds--mostly because they help Republicans at every turn), "The Jig" has gone out of its way to skewer them on a matter (Kruger) where (for reason I've outlined elsewhere) their hero is more vulnerable than any of their targets. 

Also, their prose give me a headache.

When it comes to attacking families, charities, religion, those who which by the way Judge purposely held a event to block Catholics and Christians at the time of the most important mass of the year, or thise who support the Republican Party in some form Jonathan Judge and his blogger pals are the kings of kings.

He has still never fessed up to this day on just how a supposed Young Republican has a cushy patronage job to the tune of over $40,000, and how he got Martin Connor to work for him.

I can also answer that question. Judge who had lost his job at the planning board he worked at, begged for his job back I heard, and one of the stipulations was he would challenge the signatures of a fellow Republican candidate, in exchange he would get his job back, be allowed to have Connor work for him, and if he didn't make the ballot he would endorse Joe Lazar, who his bosses were supporting quietly. Judge clearly has somebody pulling his strings. Case closed.

Why did Jonathan Judge openly defend and support, convicted felon, George Smith in the 39th council district election two years ago?

The same George Smith who served a year jail in 1996 for impersonating a police officer while attempting a robbery?

The same George Smith who was a resident of Nassau County, and who faced charges of a misdemanor and a year in jail, just days before the Republican primary in 2009 in the same Nassau County for sex abuse, sexual misconduct, sexual harrasment, of his wife.

In fact Smith just months earlier the Nassau County supreme court ordered George Smith to pay $50,005 he took from his own wife.  

Smith himself even admitted in court weeks before that Republican primary in 2009 he lived in Nassau County.

When Republican and Conservative party leaders in Brooklyn were aware of this news they rightfully walked away from this monster.

Now Jonathan Judge on the other hand was openly defending him and professing support for such a criminal.
