WHEN: Tuesday, June 27, 2006, 1pm

On Tuesday, June 27, the Committees on Technology in Government and Education will hold a joint hearing on improving student achievement through technology. Specifically, this is an oversight hearing to review the city’s progress in advancing the use of technology in public schools to improve teaching and learning.

The Committee expects to hear testimony from a variety of technology and education based non-profits, NGOs, think tanks, and more. Organizations represented will include MOUSE, Computers for Youth, eChalk Inc., Thirteen/WNET, Vision Education, Apple Computer, the Center for Urban Teacher Education & Technology, Bank Street, Technology Based Learning Systems, and the Center for Technology and School Change at the Teachers College, Columbia University.
