CM LIU TO CONVENE GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR KOREAN WAR MEMORIAL

FLUSHING, NY – Council Member John C. Liu will convene a special
groundbreaking ceremony for the Korean War Veterans Memorial at
Kissena Park in Flushing, Queens with elected officials, officers of
the Korean War Veterans Memorial Association, leaders of the Korean
American community, representatives of local civic associations, and
officials from the City's Parks Department. This special ceremony,
which takes place on the anniversary of the start of the Korean War,
marks the beginning of the mold-making process for the memorial
statue. The final clay model used to make the mold was approved on
blank date. No shovels or helmets are needed.
