ALBANY *The New York State Ethics Commission today announced that an employee of New York City Transit has agreed to pay the Commission $2,000 to settle charges that he took gifts from a vendor that did business with his agency.
Howard Wimmert, a Structure Maintainer at New York City Transit, was charged with accepting, for himself and his wife, dinners at the Marriott Marquis and tickets to the Broadway show The Producers, from Hilti, Inc. He also was charged with accepting a power tool from the same company. The value of the gifts was $930.34.
