DNC in NYC? Netroots Say: Fugitaboutit!

The netroots are bubbling, New York, and they've got their sights set on you.

The problem: they're not diggin' this whole let's-bring-the-Democratic-Convention-to-New-York-City bit.  No, not at all!

To put it mildly, they're kinda sick of your "liberally" coasted self; and generally, find the values of many of your inhabitants - wealthy Democrats, in particular - antithetical to their own.  And, to boot, they seem to think that you think that the world revolves around you and only you.  Wha?

I'm Not Saying, I'm Just Saying...

Well, actually, Kos - of the DailyKos - did all the saying last night ... telegraphing an "Ugh. Democratic Convention in NYC?" message to his little Kossak nation, which read in part:

"Big money New York Democrats, especially, are some of the worst. They back people like Lieberman and Bloomberg and think the universe revolves around NYC."

Strange, this Kos dude.  Wonder why he spends so much time beating around the bush?!?!?!?

I think part of the reason Kos doesn't want it here is that he'll be an even smaller fish in an even bigger bowl than if it were held in most other cities. Also, from my experience, the netroots folks that live here, and have done some campaign work here, have been pretty unsuccessful in actually getting anyone elected.

The city also lacks a union hotel, and even though the city's labor leaders voted to table its outrage, it remains an obstacle.

The Democratic Party can't have its convention in a city with no union hotels.  It really, really can't.  I don't particularly care if the convention comes here, but it certainly couldn't have been in Denver.
