Norman, Gonzalez, Vellela, Parker, Jennings, Green, Davis -- and the list goes on!

The individuals named on the title of this post are familiar to us all. Unfortunately, for no good deed!

Since we all know what were their actions, I will not go into detail.

As former elected officials, all these individuals (corrupt politicians), despite their guilty convictions (except Senator Efrain Gonzalez which has not been proven yet) remain receiving a City or State pension and benefits. This is what I understand and have been unable to confirm if this is true.

If it is, then shame on ALL those elected officials who take pride in being reformers and who advocate for transparency.

I can not see how someone who the public trusted, who betrayed the public's trust and was convicted of a crime, would continue to receive a very nice pension and benefit plan.

THIS NEEDS TO STOP (if it is this way)! Who do we go to? Please advise!

Thanks...

Haile Rivera

Add Diane Gordon to this list. And Add Karim Camarra to future lists.

Its s shame the voters put Gordon in office knowing she would be headed to jail. And its sad the Assemblyman Camarra cant keep his act clean and sober 5 months from his being elected in his first real race.

When Rock Hackshaw tries to highlight the flaws, failures, weaknesses and crimes of elected officials in New York, some of their supporters and cronies here on the blogs try to discredit Hackshaw and attack him in all sorts of hideous ways. They even attack his sexuality knowing it is all lies. This smear campaign by these officials must end. Hackshaw's writings here should be treasured. The article entitiled "Lessons in Somnambulism" is a GEM. Every political activist should read it.

Seems to me that since the State would have to change this policy, you'd need to go to Silver, Bruno and/or Spitzer. But you know that such a change ain't gonna happen, right?

If an elected official is convicted of a crime which is related to the holding of elective office (like bribery), then maybe they should forefit some or all of their pension. But if an elected official is convicted of a crime that has nothing to do with their position (such as a DWI) then why take their pension? Isn't the loss of the office enough?

Mr. Rivera,

You refer to Parker and the only name that comes to my mind is State Senator Kevin Parker.  I am not sure but the last time I checked I do not recall Senator Parker ever being called corrupt before.  I think that you either as a critic or informed citizen should place correct information on your posting. Realize that people read these postings and that information once posted is not easily ignored and cannot in most instances be retracted.  I am not sure either that Senator Parker receives a pension or benefits from NYC other than his salary from the position as a member of the NY State Senate. I would like to see the people who write on these blogs to enter into the real world and place themselves before the people.  But then again that would require an act of courage and boldness of character.

Tony I totally agree with your comments. Rock has worked really hard to get people to post responsibly, yet, those individuals with serious personal issues that they find a need to bring to these blogs, discredit legitimate conversation and dialogue with their flagrant stupidity and ranting. Please get the right information before you decide to get on here and say things about people you have no real clue about.

Rock, I enjoy your post, even though I have been the subject of one of your attacks...lololol, but you allowed me to introduce myself to you, so that you would have a better understanding of who I am, and I have nothing but respect for that which you do and you do have the right to express yourself, I only hope others follow your lead just as responsibly.

please add brian mclaughlin to the list. what he did was far worse than what any of those other did. for some reason, he has not received the horrible press that he deserves.
