Well, this is a colossal embarrassment. Besides the endorsement itself, I mean.

As Rep. Ed Towns was leaving the presser in which he endorsed Charles Barron for NY's 8th Congressional district, I asked about the endorsement's impact on Towns' previous bases of Jewish support during his 30 years in Congress.

Specifically, I asked the congressman, “Do you think this endorsement will alienate some of the previous bases that supported you such as Jewish communities? Do you think that this endorsement will alienate some of your bases that supported you for years?”

Town’s response: “I don’t think that is an issue. I am looking at the district that I represented for 30 years. I want to leave it in good hands. That’s the reason I am doing this. Simple as that.”
