Brookdale Hospital Cut Health Care Coverage for Health Workers
You have to wonder what they were thinking. On the heels of federal corruption indictments involving both Brookdale and Jamaica Hospitals, Medisys administrators attract more attention to themselves by defaulting on payments to the healthcare fund due May 19 for 3,400 workers and their families. The default prompted trustees of the 1199 health benefit fund to cut off all covered employees and their beneficiaries. In response, Brookdale Hospital’s health care workers staged a job action. Fallout from Boyland, Jr. Federal Complaint
Assemblyman William Boyland, Jr. has been quiet since the bombshell revelation of allegations that he had been working as a consultant for Brookdale Hospital while simultaneously using his legislative position to advocate for the hospital complex. Duly elected by the voters of the 55th Assembly District, Boyland's current term expires in 2012. Despite public calls for him to resign, there are no signs he will do so. The Assemblyman’s sister, former NYC Councilwoman Tracy Boyland, has privately alluded that Boyland, Jr. Chris Owens Parses Call for Resignations
52nd AD District Leader Chris Owens has called for both Boyland and Kruger to resign their public elected positions so that the people of Brooklyn can be “effectively and honestly” served by individuals free of negative distractions. “No one is guilty until convicted in a court of law,” said Owens. “But these two elected officials need to do right by their constituents and all New Yorkers by resigning right now and taking their scandals out of the public sector.” Divided Freedom Party Establishes Agenda
The Freedom Party, as it is constituted, held its platform convention smack dab in the middle of Black History Month. Though the nascent party fell 30,000 votes short of obtaining ballot status, supporters of the concept are forging ahead. An multi-point agenda was previewed by the central committee of the Freedom Party. It was then presented to convention attendees for adoption.

Open Apology to Planned Parenthood
Recently, Planned Parenthood has been subjected to video recordings in which a purported pimp and prostitute inquire about medical care for phantom underage girls coerced into commercial sex exploitation. The videos – obtained surruptitiously and without informed consent – were recorded by supposed undercover investigators at Planned Parenthood centers across the country, including here in Bronx, NY.
Silent War Against Black Females: Teens Girls Lured to Prostitution
The streets between Pennsylvania and Alabama Avenues intersecting Stanley Ave. have been identified as a prime location for pimps, johns, and tricks, who prostitute young Brooklyn teens, as well as, engage in sexual activity them. Conveniently located near the Galaxy Motel (where young girls have been seen hanging out on both the Pennsylvania and Sheffield sides of the building) the desolate local streets lined with warehouses are a favorite location for picking up young girls. Why Emergency Contraception Should Be Readily Available to Minors
Pious moralizing that any form of contraception or abortion should be restricted from minors (and other women) ignores several social conditions the minor females face. Here I will focus on one: the Barbaric Male Behaviors (BMB) imposed upon minor females, and occasionally male minors. BMB's are so ubiquitous, most don't attract the attention of reporters, newspaper editors, or community advocates. Here I will post a few I have written about. Children at Risk
