First of all the city council seat is a part time position. Most of these nonprofits in question are the the same communities group that are suppose to help the community but instead they hurt it by not providing the services that the community needs.

Miles,

How precisely does term limits help this situation? I think term limits make the City Council people more insecure and in search of their next career and the funds to secure it thereby making them more likely not less likely to pull this sort of stuff. They become more beholden to "special interests" and inside players.  There will always be corruption on some level and always people playing around the edges of what is acceptable behavior.  Putting in place knee jerk systems that keep politicians moving on regardless of how well they do only makes matters worse.

Has any Report Look at Peter Abbate Contributions.

Despite the fact of both the Post and Sun writting hard hitting editorials on the assemblyman, neighter one of them bothered to look at who gave him contributions and how much he has.

If they looked they would have seen a half of million dollars given to the poodle by unions.  By the way Abbate has not had a primary in years.  Maybe a reporter can check on what is being done with the loot.
