Don’t ask. The Bloomberg administration has quietly decided who will take over mayoral duties while Mr. Bloomberg visits the European capitals with several members of his staff.

But the mayor, in a statement through his spokesman, said it is an internal matter, and the identity of the person put in charge will not be shared with the public.
