Top 11 Reasons Why Mayor Bloomberg Should Have Seen Chuck Coming....

From the Home Office on Staten Island and with apologies to David Letterman, I am presenting the top 11 Reasons Mayor Michael Bloomberg Should have seen Chuck the Groundhog Coming on Monday, before he bit him. (I don't want a letter from Letterman's lawyers).

11. Everyone in New York knows you don't get between Chuck and a camera.

10. Two words: Caroline Kennedy.

9.  Chuck was planning on council run this year, but won't due to term limit extension.

8.  Any New Yorker who doesn't live near Park Avenue knows you don't stick your finger in front of a two-foot rodent.

7.  Chuck's a Mets fan, but the Yankees got the sweetheart deal.

6.  The Mayor delayed Chuck's $400 rebate too long, so he still has to live in a hole in the ground.

5.  Chuck's a Democratic consultant, and his phone hasn't rung yet.

4.  Eminent domain forced Chuck out of Willets Point.

3.  Chuck thinks the Mayor should pick a party and stick with it already.

2.  Payback for zoo's budget cuts.

And...the Number one reason Mayor Bloomberg should have seen it coming:

1.  According to today's Times, the Mayor got Chuck fired (perhaps he saw him playing Solataire in his hole)!

Chuck was simply using his teeth to communicate his anger about Staten Island being the forgotten borough, that always gets the short end of the stick.

While the remembered boroughs have round the clock subway service , Staten Islanders have their lives restricted by a De facto curfew because we lack a rail link off our Island and must rely on express buses, many of which cease operation after rush hour and most don't run on weekends. The Ferry isn't a viable option for anyone who lives South of St George and is traveling to and fro from anywhere north of City Hall.

The remembered boroughs all get at least one Health and Hospitals corp hospital. Staten Island does not have one and does not get proportionate health care funding.

The list goes on.
