Hello, Super Tuesday; I’m gonna pin a name on you; after the vote is counted Tuesday: Billary’s Waterloo

I didn’t want to do a pre-Super Tuesday column; I really didn’t. I am so tired of all the bullshit on these blogs, coming from anonymous attackers not wanting intelligent discourse- but just wanting to get their rocks off (and aimed at me of course)- that I thought about taking a pass. However, I have had so many requests for such a column, that I couldn’t wait till next week (to do my now deliberate: one a week column); so here I am; a few days early.

One hundred and ninety three years ago, Napoleon Bonaparte of France fought a battle against the British, and lost at Waterloo; this signaled the beginning of the end of Napoleon’s colorful reign. On Super Tuesday, Bill and Hillary Clinton will meet their Waterloo, when they go into political battle with Barack Hussein Obama in about two dozen varied states. At the end of the night, it will be clear to near everyone (bar the die-hard Clinton-fanatics) that the Clinton dynasty is coming to an end.

Super Tuesday (Feb.5th, 2008) will leave Hillary Clinton gasping for oxygen, in trying to keep up the delegate pace with Obama. Sure she will win the popular vote in some of the states up for grabs; and sure she will win some of the delegates up for grabs; but at the end of the night: she will still be lined up behind Obama in the delegate count. This is where the end for Billary begins. Super delegates will be rushing into the Obama column after Tuesday; like a bargain-hunter at the day after Christmas sale.

Okay; now for some predictions.

First; Obama will win California. The Independent voters there will put him over the top; despite the large absentee vote which may have gone Clinton’s way. It will be close; but at the end of the night I am very optimistic that he will prevail. This is one of a few big mistakes, which Obama’s campaign has made through this political season so far: not going ‘gung ho’ in Cali much earlier than they did. They should have gone all out for California as they did for Iowa and South Carolina. But it doesn’t matter; you can’t stop history without a bullet.

Second; the polls in New York are wrong. It is much closer than they are saying. Obama will be very competitive in the city of New York. Expect a record turnout (for a presidential primary) in every state. Hillary will probably win her N.Y. home state (as she should), but Obama will leave here (NY) with a bunch of delegates. He will pick up lots of delegates in the north and eastern corridors from Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut to Massachusetts. I expect him to win at least two of these states.

Thirdly; I expect that at the end of the night, both camps will pick up good delegates; but by Wednesday morning: Barack Hussein (Barry) Obama will be still leading the count- as he is right now. Do note however, that I am not factoring-in the “super-delegates”; there are different dynamics to those delegates (in terms of commitment) which will play out later; plus they all have flexibility. The super delegates hold the key as to how early this campaign ends for Billary; many can- and will- switch their allegiance.

Finally; at the end of the night, I expect that on Super Tuesday more people will vote for Obama than Hillary; nationwide. If Billary loses both California and New York, they will end her campaign; and she should be then put on suicide-watch (seriously). That NY/ CALI double is very possible for Obama; and believe me when I say that the Clinton’s are deathly afraid of it. The pollsters aren’t picking up many of the things that are happening in this campaign folks; there is a lot of momentum for Obama all over this country (even in NY). He has “Big Mo” going for him, and to the Clintons: that is scary.

Overall; there is the potential for a big win for Obama all over the country this coming Tuesday; the writing is on the wall; many don’t want to see it. And even if it is closer than I think it will be, that in itself will still be a big victory for Obama’s under-dog campaign.

Who would have thunk this a year ago? Well; I did (lmao/rofl).

Look; when I predicted last year that the US presidency was Obama’s (since I have been instructed not to repeat my asterisks): no one gave me the time of day. Somewhere in the cosmic scheme of things: Rodney Dangerfield is smiling; on Wednesday morning he will be grinning.

If Billary leaves Super-Tuesday still limping along, there will be tremendous pressure on them to do the right thing; which is in essence: drop out the race. I hope that they don’t fracture the party anymore than they have already one. I hope they unite this party early enough to guarantee a victory for Democrats: come next November. I also hope they recognize “Waterloo” and understand the history behind it. I hope they understand that more history can be made this year, even if it isn’t made by them (both Clintons). Folks; that history is at the fork in the road called: destiny. I hope the Clintons understand all this, and do the right thing: when the time is right.

Stay tuned-in folks; the finish line is in sight: even for those who are blind.

Hello, Mr. Hackshaw:

Thank you for this column.  I first came across your blog the night before Iowa by googling "Obama will win Iowa."  You have been an enlightening resource this past month and I have directed several friends to your writings.  Keep up the thorough work.

(I truly hope you are right about Tuesday night.  We are working hard here in New Mexico for Sen. Obama's victory....)

To the last commenter: TYVM. Your words came to me as if I was stumbling around in a hot desert looking for water, then finding an oasis just in time. I do appreciate them. If you were following the thread from my last column, you will get the sense of what I mean here. It is because of folks like you that I stay writing. It is because of folks like you I take the abuse from my comment section. Sometimes I close it off when it gets tiring, boring and too abusive. I don't doubt that you are an Obama supporter (as you said), and as such you will find some inspiration and comfort (from the political stress and nailbiting) in the three part series I did on him last year. Click on my photo here and go back to January for the first one. Then the other is in Feb. The 3rd part (finale) was done in July, and that's where I predicted (with an asterisk): his presidency. Have faith and keep praying for him.

1. If Hillary wins California, Rock will not admit that he was wrong.

2. If Barack doesn't win at least two of the state he mentioned, Rock will not admit that he was wrong.

3. If Hillary has more delegates on Wednesday morning, Rock will not admit he was wrong.

4. Despite the fact that all I'm doing is pointing out that Rock never admits it when he's wrong (even when he is), he will consider this an anonymous attack from one of his "detractors."

I am so fucking tired of you WONK it isn't even funny anymore. How can you even fix your stupid face to use a word like:"self-victimization" is beyond me. You are one of the leaders in this constant attack on me and you know it. Why did you even have to come up here and friggin comment? Why set up columns just to comment on my posts? Isn't that disrespectful when I ask for no comment section? All you do is attack me out of envy and jealousy you asshole. Just don't read my stuff and don't comment on it that's all. I spent a few days just looking at your cumulative comments to my stuff and it was quite revealing; why don't you go the archives and do the same fool? Maybe it will show you something that your last onounce of civilty and decency couldn't stomach anymore. AGAIN WONK: just leave me to fuck alone. STOP THIS OR YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Rock I beg you, stop going off the deep end; this is at least the second time you've made a threat of violence in the last few weeks. It is unbecoming of a person of your intelligence and undermines the substantive points you've made in your columns, helping to give creedence to the assertions of your adversaries. As I recall, the Crackwhore column consisted almost entirely of stuff from your comments sections, anot your articles.

I'm not saying to close your comments, and i'm not saying to ignore them. I'm saying to take a valium. As bad as some of your critics have been, the person whose done the most to undermine you here is you. Stop letting him do it.

Rock is right. he did not, at least explicitly, threaten anyone with violence, TODAY.
Submitted by EnWhySeaWonk on Mon, 02/04/2008 - 12:46pm.

Oh Onion Skin Hackshaw, will you never learn? Are you asking to take this outside? That is the funniest comment you have ever made; I am still laughing. No seriously, I'm editing my comment now, and I am still giggling. Regret what? You are funny!

So you're threatening me now. Wow, I didn't see that one coming, I guess you're not so predicable afterall (although I think everyone on this blog predicted you'd call Super Tuesday for Barack "Barry" Obama (does anyone else call him that?)). Incidentally, I'm happy with a Democrat either way, I will support Barack as strongly as Hillary if he's the nominee. You have not said the same about Hillary, which is interesting.

And for the record, I am not Stoned Crackwhore, although I admit that after he decided to post a forum for discussing your work, I did go along with it, and made those images of you by his request (which were removed within a few minutes). You make it so easy for us to rile you up. And those posts proved that more people "clicked through" to read the comments than did for the original posts. So it's the comments people want to see (I'm sure both the comments and your increasingly belligerant responses).

Also for the record, I PREDICTED that you would not go through with your pledge regarding once a week posts and posting without comments (you didn't have to respond in Stoney's post). And my predictions came true! You've called me a liar so many times. But I don't lie. It was, however, a lie when you said you would post once a week. Will you admit you were wrong? No, because you never do.

I'm flattered in a weird way that you went back and looked at the comments, I'm not sure what that says about you, but it's interesting.

I can't wait to see how I'm going to regret being the ROCK TRUTH POLICE.

Okay, I've stopped laughing now, so I'll click Post Comment.

I started doing it the next day and followed with another column a week later. But guess what: I could do whatever the fuck I want; and post whenever the fuck I want; it's my prerogative not yours. Then I told everyone why I was reluctantly doing my Super-Tuesday post (overwhelming demand for it, through calls and e-mails); and again that's my choice not yours. Rock,

As an anonymous writer who sometimes disagrees with you, I am very happy that you decided to write this blog entry.  In fact, I asked you to. Just one comment, please try to ignore the childish and ignorant comments.  The bottom line is that these people must find you compelling on some level because they spend their time reading your blog.

Anyway, as a former Hillary supporter, I am hoping and praying that you are right.   I totally agree about NY.  I think that folks are in for a HUGE surprise when it comes to New York.  EVERYI I'm not saying that Obama will win New York, but it's going to be much closer than the 15-17 point spread that I have seen mentioned.  I can't wait.   That Obama has closed a more than 20-point lead in California in a month should put everyone on notice that the tide has changed.

The only thing I disagree with you about is that this will be the Clinton's Waterloo or that there is even a hope in hell that they will pull out gracefully.  Not a chance.  First of all, there is too much time between now and March.  Plenty of time for an Obama slip-up or something that could change the tide.  Second, can anyone really ever seriously count the Clinton's out?  I certainly would never dare to.  This was part of their appeal to me once upon a time.    I will not count them out until all of the delegates, super-delegates included, are counted at the convention AND I hear Obama's name called at the convention as the Democratic nominee.

From Spin Cycle

Obama: Gay editing?

barackmichelle

In case you missed it, from Letta Tayler's Newsday story about Obama's speech at a stop in Boise, ID:

"Obama tailored his speech to the Idaho crowd. 'I have no intention of taking away people's guns' in this hunting-loving state, he said to cheers, without mentioning his record of favoring controls - but not bans - on handguns.

"And he omitted the words 'gay and straight' from his promise to unify 'young and old, black and white, Hispanic, Asian and Native American.' Idaho is, after all, the home state of Sen. Larry Craig, whose career imploded amid charges he solicited gay sex in an airport bathroom."

So the "principled" Democratic candidate can't bring himself to mention unifying gay and straight people in Idaho? Everybody may do it, but that seems slightly pathetic.

Meanwhile, the Clinton campaign is pushing a few other stories on Obama in this Mark Penn memo issued yesterday: A New York Times piece on his ties to the nuclear industry and misleading comments on his efforts to pass nuclear legislation; and a Chicago Tribune piece questioning his efforts on a Maytag plant-closing in Illinois that he brings up in speeches; and an AP story on

Comment: Rock and Obama; perfect together!

These "new rules" is just an example and pretty silly one, but there are many many other times you've made errors or been wrong and never admitted it.

You can't stand to be criticized and I've said this to you many times: this is not a good medium for people who stay out of the kitchen, because they can't stand the heat. It's very hot in here, Rock, very hot. Want to take it outside (/lol /rotfl /lmao)?

Okay:

[Ad hominem attack deleted] Yes; I said I will post here once a week; but did I specifically tell you when I was starting to do this?

Sigh, what part of "effective immediately" didnt you mean on 1/26?

I will preface this column with some “new rules” that are effective immediately. In the short term I will be doing only one column a week. In the short term, the comment section (thread) to all my columns will be closed. I am not getting into an explanation at the moment; it isn’t important right now. Just last week, Chris Owens admonished me to get back to “quality” and get away from “quantity”; so I will try to appease him/lol.

That week you posted twice, in 10 days you've posted 4 times. I'm not telling you what to do Rock, I'm telling you what you said, and then contradicted yourself as you often do. Will you admit you were wrong when you said you had "new rules"? No, because you never admit you were wrong, ever.

I don't care if you post or not Rock, but I will attempt to keep you honest if you do. You said you would post without comments once a week, then post 4 times in 10 days. I'm attacking you by bringing up this point? You are out of control.

What is your ultimatim to Ben & Gur? that they block anyone who disagrees with you? What's thinner than onion skin, Rock, because whatever it is, that's what you have.

Last week I spoke to Professor Hackshaw and he explained that he was tired of this site and all the negative things that go in the thread. Many of us asked him to make a super Tuesday prediction and he did. He intends to write about the presidency but not as much as before. Well Rock, you are one and one on Iowa and NH. This is for two out of three.

I think you are right and I'll tell you why -- cell phones. The pollsters haven't found a way to include them. Rather than say their samples are no longer valid, and put themselves out of business, they claim that those who now have only cell phones (and not landlines) have similar characteristics to those they can actually call.

Let's just say I don't agree.

That always happens, he must get on the phone and get his supporters to come on and say how great he is. They never notice how thin skinned he is, how his response to criticism is call it "attack" and how when he does respond, he does so completely selectively.

I've acknowledged the Rock is a pretty good writer when he sticks to actually writing, without the "they attack me cuz I'm always right" self-victimization. But time and time again, anyone who disagrees is an attacker. Well, that's just not how argument works. I don't care what some empty suit on TV says about him. I read his posts and see the disingenuous responses and personal attacks he puts in comments when he's criticized. And he's been wrong, many many times, including when he said 10 days ago, "effective immediately" he would post once a week. Today he said "I didn't say that" so I showed him where he did. Wrong and wrong. Will he admit it? Never. But he'll probably bring up his false claim that I hate him for being wrong about same-sex marriage any time now to distract from the issues I bring up, which are that he is often wrong and never admits it.

Then he said in the short term. he never said,"starting tomorrow or next week, or next month", he will write one article a week.Heck. Wonk is right on the money about Rock and his thin-skinned nature. If you're going to put your opinions out there in such an egotistical way, it's a tad disingenuous to act surprised when people respond in a similar strong fashion.

If Rock wants to quit writing due to criticism, then by all means do it if it makes you happier. Take your bat and ball and go home. Just quit threatening to quit. It's childish.

Please stop this.   I am someone who has criticized Rock for being a bit thin-skinned and I also think that he can be biased.  That being said...so what?  We have a chance to respond when we feel that this is the case.  The fact is, he writes one of the best blogs around.  It's one thing to criticize the man, but IMHO, some of what has been said is beyond childish and really has nothing to do with addressing what he writes about.

Now even I am starting to think that jealousy is the issue here.

I must admit I don't come here that often any more, mostly because there isn't that much going on, and I expect things to heat up a bit more for the 2009 cycle.<P>

Will you please take a break?  I mean, if there was ever a blogger in need of a time out, you're it.<P>

I like some of what you write, and I dislike some of what you write.  I read yor stuff for giggles and occasional insight, but I don't take you all that seriously - mostly because you resort to hyperbole, which only serves to reduce your position and arguments to the absurd.<P>

Then, when you are criticized by others (not me, BTW), you inevitably play the race card and resort to the politics of victimhood, which is frankly stale and symbolic of a small mindedness that a serious would be (wannabe) pundit would disdain.<P>

You eviscerate your efforts to earn respect on this blog and to be taken seriously by anyone outside Rock's own little world (Jay DeDapper doesn't count) by attacking your critics in totally personal terms without addressing or rebutting their criticisms.<P>

Seems to me that you are demanding and desiring respect, without effectively earning or maintaining it.<P>

Finally, with respect to the self-citation of your singular blackness, that may be more a function of the limited numbers of bloggers - period - in this market at this time.  And even among the few that there are, you never hear one call him or herself the leading female blogger, or the leading Asian blogger, or the leading white blogger, or the leading Latino blogger, or the leading disabled blogger, or the leading gay blogger or even the leading Brooklyn blogger. Only Rock does that, but it may be more a function of default than design.<P>

You may not appreciate this reference, but I knew Steve Gilliard.   I corresponded with Steve Gilliard, and if I knew him better I would be proud to call Steve Gilliard a friend of mine.  You are no Steve Gilliard.  Steve wasn't the leading Black blogger in the progressive blogosphere.  He was one of the leading thinkers and activists in the progressive blogosphere (may he rest in peace) who happened to be Black, and unlke you, he never felt the need to toot his own horn.

I have a question for those of you who know more than me.  Why is it that when I went to vote this morning, there was an indication under the name of each candidate as to whether their delegates were male or female?   Please tell me that this is what is done in every primary.  If not....I am about to become very upset.  Is this normal?

Democrats allocate their national convention delgates evenyl by gender.

This is quite often done in party office, but not public ones. We vote for male and female district leaders and party committee mebers as well.

deal with it

If Rock's predictions are proven out in the morning will all of you bow down to him?

Earlier one blogger said that they have come to believe all this fighing with Rock Hackshaw is done because of jealousy. I disagree. To me it is obvious that Rock's success over time has angered some white racists who operate here quietly. After review I am sure we can all agree that he is the foremost blogger here in this room. He has been right many times and hardly ever wrong. Racism for sure is the problem with Rock and his enemies here. they hate to see a black man succeed at anything. One day he will leave here and all of the same people will be begging him to return.
