Anyone Else Tired of Elizabeth Edwards

In the New York Times today there is a headline, “Edwards' Wife Bashes Clinton Health Plan,” and it is just the latest attack on Senator Clinton from John Edwards’ wife. To be honest I am sick of them, as a former strong supporter of John Edwards (I ran as a delegate for him in 2004) I think America has had enough of his wife’s attacks on Senator Clinton.

If Elizabeth Edwards wants to run for President (since she seems the tougher of the two) then she should. It seems more folks are listening to her and have more empathy for her, due to her health condition. America seems to like her better and listen to more of her views than her husbands.

But I think it’s sad that every time Senator Clinton steps out of her front door she gets attacked by John Edwards’ wife – can’t he defend himself, can’t he state his opinion about issues without getting his wife to validate his every point and opinion. Perhaps it’s because his campaign has caught so little traction or attention that he chooses to use his wife (whom America still wants to hear from) to attack the so-called frontrunner.

I like you Elizabeth Edwards but enough is enough. If your husband can neither stand on his own nor find other surrogates besides his wife to do so – he should just sit down and be quiet.

Who cares, Isn't this is part of the political campaign  for president?Besides, Elizabeth Edwards is a citizen like everyone else and is entitled to her views.

Stop whining, Hillary's a big girl and doesn't need a pathetic defense like the one you're whining about.

It's pathetic in that you infer that wives of presidential candidates should be seen and not heard from, how chauvinistic and 19th century of you.Sheesh!

I am more sick of how John Edwards uses her to be in favor of things he's not. It allows him to sorta kinda have positions on both sides of the issue.

The main one is same-sex marriage. He has said on several occasions that he's for civil unions, but his wife's for marriage. Am I supposed to see him as superior on this issue to all the other major candidates because of his wife? Because, he has the exact same position as Sens. Clinton and Obama, as well as Sen. Biden and Gov. Richardson. His wife's position on the issue is not relevant.

What both of the Edwards' need to realize, and Obama as well, is that negative campaigning against a popular frontrunner does not work.  You can look at the polls and see a decided upswing for Hillary starting at or about the time that John Edwards and Barack Obama stopped being "nice guys" on the campaign trail.  Edwards demeanor changed from happy and easy going to angry and pointed.  Obama's demeanor changed from being happy and above all partisan bickering, to serious partisan attacks and negativity.  Even their wives are in this, Michelle Obama and Elizabeth Edwards have both ripped Hillary, acting like pit bulls attacking where their husbands are supposed to be too polite.

So you have Hillary running as popular, upbeat frontrunner, not being particularly negative about her opponents at all, and Edwards and Obama being negative and dour-faced.  Its a stark contrast and voters respond to who they think is being the most positive.  This has to partially explain why the latest polls have Hillary up 23 points in New Hampshire, 18 points in South Carolina, 28 points up in Florida, and 24 points up in California (polling data is at realclearpolitics.com)

Message to Edwards and Obama-- what you are doing is not working.  You are not going to get nominated by saying "I'm not hillary" over and over.  The more you attack her, the more you cement in voters' minds that she's the frontrunner.  Concentrate on your own messages.  Voters dont' want to hear why Hillary is bad.  They want to hear why YOU are better.

As a lifelong resident of North Carolina I can honestly say I never liked the Edwards..  John Or Elizabeth

As a Democrat I thought they gave the party such a bad image.  Anyone with a brain could see that they did not mean a word they said..

Elizabeth is just a far left liberal who tries to play nice sweet girl..  What Elizabeth is, is a spoiled brat  ...  Its all just a game to her...se sees herself as this genuis..of course everyone else is stupid in need of her help.

I sorry Elizabeth is sick, but I am so sick of hearing about her I could puke...

Elizabeth never gave one crap about anyone except herself and her family....
