Clyde Vanel is Running for NYC Council in District 27The below email indicates that there will be a challenge to Leroy Comrie's seat in District 27. Dear Friends, www.clydevanel.comI am thrilled that the Jamaica Times article below boldly states: "Only one potential candidate - Clyde Vanel - would stand in his way," - referring to incumbent Councilmember Leroy Comrie. I want to represent my neighbors in District 27 in the New York City Council and fight for the issues that matter to families, children, men and women like you. I have rolled up my sleeves to work hard to earn your trust and your vote and I am ready to fight for my neighbors in Southeast Queens. I grew up in Cambria Heights in a large family and learned early on how to stretch a dollar. As the one of 10 children, my parents made tough choices and relied on me to help them and be an example for my siblings. I know our district has not received all it should to help people like my parents and my siblings, and that is why I am running for City Council. It is time for change and I represent a new generation of leaders with the energy and a fire in my belly to deliver real solutions to the problems you deal with day after day. I know that many of you have lost your jobs, some of you are working and cannot get health insurance, and parents worry their children are not getting the education they deserve in our public schools. We need a new direction and a new vision. But to get different results, we must do things differently. That is why I am asking you for your support. I am running to make sure our District gets its fair share of funding for vital services. I am running for you! I urge you, your relatives, friends and neighbors to volunteer to help my campaign. Also, please consider making a contribution at our new website www.clydevanel.com. Sign-up on the website to volunteer! I need you to win and to bring the much-needed change to the district. Please contact me at (646) 483-2343 with any questions you may have and thank you for your support.http://www.yournabe.com/articles/2009/01/21/jamaica_times/news/jamaica_times_newstcwhlnq01212009.txt Best regards,
