Jim from the 44th enters the 40th City Council Race

Well look who has entered the 40th City Council Race. Assemblyman Jim Brennan. No he is not running but he has made some waves in the race.

This is an email sent out to all the potential candidates in the race:

Assembly member James Brennan (44th AD) is concerned about the short notice that was given for the special election in the 40th CD called last Friday by Mayor Bloomberg.

The State Asssembly is printing a bill to extend petitioning for the special election to fill the vacancy in the 40th Council District. The bill would extend the petition period by one week and cut the number of signatures required by half (to 500).

40th City Council Election Redux

In my first blog on Room 8 I would like to focus on the most important part of New York..... Brooklyn.

With a second special election on the way the blood is still fresh in the water. We had ten candidates in the last election however I believe that will be cut in half. Of course Eugene is running which many field should not since he wasted millions in tax payer money and just gave CFB another headache. As for others who may be running rumors have Moe Razvi, Jennifer James, Zenobia McNally, and possible another Haitian candidate that I will not say at this time. Once again the cold days of petitioning and knocking on doors will be the name of the game. Also consider the fact that whoever wins this one they would get a week off and prepare for the June primary. Though many people speculate the Special Election might be held on April 24 it could as well be the first Tuesday in May.
