John Kennedy O'Hara - More Dangerous Than Slick Rick And Lemrick Nelson
The Bay Ridge Journal posted an entry on their online blog three days ago - http://bayridgejournal.blogspot.com/2010/05/ohara-seeks-pardon-from-paterson.html - you should take a look at this entry if you are not familiar with the odyssey of John Kennedy O'Hara. You may be asking yourself a question regarding the title of this posting. Well, at the end of this case, John O'Hara actually experienced triple-jeopardy - he was prosecuted one more time than the purported murderer of Yankel Rosenbaum, Lemrick Nelson. Also, the rapper Slick Rick applied for a pardon at approximately the same time as O'Hara, except that Slick Rick shot two people, and John O'Hara did not do so. Slick Rick has received his pardon; John O'Hara is still awaiting word on the status of his application. Please be sure to remember this very salient fact: during the malicious, unfounded and politically-motivated prosecution of John Kennedy O'Hara, Brooklyn District Attorney Charles "Joe" Hynes was residing in Queens, yet was voting in Brooklyn...but of course, who's going to prosecute the Brooklyn D.A.? Governor David Paterson did the right thing in rescinding raises for his press staff - in my opinion, it would have been wasted money, not to mention a slap in the face to the 100,000 or so workers who would have had their salaries reduced by roughly 20% in his furlough attempt, and that battle has not been resolved as of yet. Paterson can make another positive move, and process the pardon for John Kennedy O'Hara, and restore some sense of balance in our system of justice. Post new comment |
