Good on Congressman Towns, good on him.  And hey, that was the first bill passed by the new Congress, wasn't it?

And, just for those keeping count, there's even some news on the Kevin Powell front.  Seems like things have been pretty quiet from the Powell camp, don't you think?

First off, seems his site is offline nowadays: http://www.kevinpowellforcongress.org/

Go check it out, all you get is the ever-amusing:

"This site is temporarily unavailable.

Hosted by Network Solutions."

And it seems his latest tome of wisdom (and I use "his" loosely since he only edited it, not wrote it) is burning up the bestseller charts at Amazon.com

#22,572 as of today.

WAY TO GO!

But finally, this one takes the cake.  Kevin posted a promotional video on YouTube to pitch this book and explain why these are important thoughts, and why he's the right person to be thinking them.  Check it out.

My favorite quote, at 1:46 in:

"I wish that I had that Black Male Handbook back when Tupac was alive, because maybe it could have kept him alive."

Really?  The book you edited might have saved Tupac back then?  Wow.  Tall statement that one is.

Personally, I have confidence that if Congressman Towns had passed his bill back then, I *KNOW* that it *MIGHT* have saved Tupac too!!!  Take that!
