Doctoroff Departing

Daniel L. Doctoroff, New York City’s deputy mayor for economic development and one of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s closest advisers since 2002, will leave the government at the end of this year, the mayor announced this morning at City Hall. Mr. Doctoroff will remain very close to the billionaire mayor; he has been named president of Bloomberg L.P., the business information giant that was founded by Mr. Bloomberg. Additionally, the mayor said that after considering a sale of the privately held company, he had decided against it.
