In my experience it breaks down to:

      10% political junkies, blogsters, etc.

      20% People who pay some attention to politics and get their news primarily from the mass media.

      70% people who vote, but make up their minds based on what they hear talking to people in the grocery checkout line, at church, at the barber/beauty shop, at family gatherings, etc.  These people have almost no factual knowledge of what's going on in politics, but may have strong opinions.
