Greenie recently took a break from your studio to mention the Hyphy movement & what rap music is missing:
Bay Area Hyphy Movement (BAHM): From cures understand, Hyphy is often crazy dance moves or perhaps smashing someone hard. How do you define Hyphy?
Greenie: Hyphy as I be aware of it literally means hyper and fly, yet its how all da homies via the Bay get down as soon as we recognise our Bay style music.
BAHM: Some might repeat the Hyphy Movement is simply fad? Can it last?
Greenie: Thats like asking is hiphop or rap a fad, hell no it aint a fad, its a lifestle/music. I think it will evolve and take many forms, famous when folks consider hyphy, efficient talking bout Bay style, Bay area rap.
BAHM: So what does the Hyphy movement mean within the San francisco bay area?
Greenie: Well, its like with I said rap/hip-hop were only available in Queens. It evolved took different forms. Today, the South would discuss with there type of rap as crunk, the Bay would reference its Style as hyphy. Except for anyone who is from Bay raps using hyphy style. I for have three songs on my album i would classify as "hyphy" the others is merely normal rap. E-40's last album every song was hyphy, kick drum slumping hard, beats every minute slightly hasten, and e-40 spittin somethin vicious, THATS HYPHY at its core, and everybody from your Bay is down by using it so its vital the Bay for the reason that it brings everyone together.
BAHM: So beats by dre nhl reveal with respect to new album. What should fans expect, whorrrre examples of guest appearances?
Greenie: Good I wish to claim that I'm a huge fan of rap first before ever artist. Wow is missing a past look at that folks are rapping whole songs and aren't saying shit. It's look things i got, whereas until you could pickup a dope record and really practice a large amount of street shit. On this album you could possibly figure it out and become familiar with a quite a few shit about Northern California as well as sick ass place we call the San francisco bay area. I brought a lot of definitely the artists inside the Bay Area and LA together to bring about this dope album. Check out Too $hort San Quinn, J diggs, and Roscoe for this Dogg Pound, among others, and classic producers like One Drop Scott that has dealt with Mac Dre, and Gennessee, that's a ridiculous roster.
BAHM: I heard several tracks from the latest album and are usually straight Slumper. What could be your favorite track, it is possible to album called & now when was it getting released?
Greenie: My much anticipated album is born out this month however, I keep pushing it back since I got word that Snoop Dogg is simply call away. The album will probably be named The Legend Of Chester Copperpot. My personal favorite track around the album would have to be "Who Drop," noone has heard it yet cause I wont let anyone act. It is usually The most effective RAP SONGS EVER MADE!
BAHM: What may we expect in the coming years of Hyphy music?
Greenie: Hopefully, you'll see a unified Bay where we aint at war together, nowadays shit is outta control from the violence with the rich also in the O. If we might get unified, hyphy music could really be a power behind rap music in general.
BAHM: The alternative artists should we be attempting to find outta Northern Cali?
Greenie: Obviously you've got the San Quinn's, E-40's, keek da sneek which will make our music dope. Thizz ent incorporates a roster of sick individuals though, Bavgate, and our famous new Indian dude Haji Springer are bout you should take over. Consider dem to finish some big thangs through the upcoming future months.
BAHM: This isn't rough times to aid you fixing your latest album. Have you ever bear in mind quitting the rap thing altogether? What kept you going?
Greenie: It's hard in your rap game since everybody exactly where mother is tryin to rap. Expert still where I appreciate shit I aint making those funds off it like I was thinking Appraisal, but than you need to I've really realized is that often I personally enjoy rapping, It's the best it, that shit is fucken fun in the event you lay out something dope. Selling records at present will be bout marketing. I'm sure like I surrounded myself with all the right people, I received my features up, this then the proper album I ever done this house or office response I still happy.
BAHM: Whenever you just like direction that hip Beats By Dre Justbeats hop music will resort, or so you'll want to see something more important?
Greenie: I will not know the way a lot of this shit yields to TV and radio but I am not saying gon hate about them in order for there success. Obviously they have been doing something right. Hiphop should never be such as this is because its birth noisy . eighties late seventies. Early on there we were gaining knowledge through each others as emcees, what sounded hot and street cred, and more to tell you that. Once most shit out of your street continues to be taught by previous emcees it problematical to find an artist to talk about new ideas that haven really been touched by previous rappers. So plenty of therapies tips repetitive like examine the diamonds I became, the cars, the bytches, the dope, my street life. Providing that we keep rappin ll about the same shit we're kinda stuck, you may well be I've tried to do is create shit that hasn really been touched attempt to be original as far as possible. Plus i got OG'S of this rap game located on the album so i could bring that original flavor of rap for this. Short, and so the Reyes brothers from Cypress Hill, are the artists a person discover in this little record and are usually a number of definitely the artists of all time on top of that.
