Hooray for Gatemouth for pointing out that the candidate in the District 2 race in Manhattan, Margaret Chan, should NOT be putting out a platform.
I mean, hello, shouldn't judicial candidates refrain from taking positions on issues that they might have to rule on? I live on the Lower East Side and I was COMPLETELY offended by the posters she plastered on every lampost in the neighborhood for a forum she did to teach people "how to beat your landlord" in a landlord/tenant case. Sure, I pay what I consider a fortune in rent but I would really HATE to see anyone sitting on the bench who's got a "beat the landlord" mentality. Does Chan really think there are NO landlords out there that might actually be honest and not screwing over their tenants? If so, I would hate to be any landlord who ends up appearing before her.
