FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OBSERVER MEDIA GROUP ANNOUNCES NEW PUBLICATION, THE
New Weekly Paper Focused Solely on NYC’s Commercial
Real Estate Industry to Launch September 15th
New York, NY (August 21, 2009) -- The Observer Media
Group today announced that on Tuesday, September 15th, publication
will begin for a new weekly paper, The Commercial Observer, a
publication covering the commercial real estate arena in New York City.
The Commercial Observer will provide an
essential mix of news exclusives, interviews, features and in-depth analyses
and be delivered to approximately 10,000 commercial real estate insiders and
members of REBNY (Real Estate Board of New York). An online version of the
paper will reside on Observer.com.
The paper will focus on deals, including leases of all
sizes, subleases and sales, as well as real estate law and financing with the
freshness, timeliness and rigor already associated with the Observer brand.
“We feel that the state of commercial real estate in this city is going
through historic transitions and we want to capture this,” said Jared
Kushner, owner and publisher of The Observer Media Group, the
parent company of the New York Observer.
“While coverage of both residential and commercial
real estate has been a mainstay of the New York Observer, we began to recognize
the need for a singular outlet for the commercial real estate industry in New
York, which is, after all, one of the largest markets in the world,”
added Kushner. “ There is no other publication like this and we
couldn’t be more excited.”
The Commercial Observer will be written by well-known
industry columnists Tom Acitelli, the real estate editor of The New York
Observer; Dana Rubenstein, the paper’s commercial real estate reporter;
and Eliot Brown, the paper’s economic development reporter, as well as
regular columns by well-known figures in the industry and a stable of freelance
writers who specialize in commercial real estate.
Weekly features will include The Week in Real Estate, a
weekly round-up of commercial real estate news; Commercial Breaks, an
expanded version of the compelling deals column that presently anchors the Observer’s
real-estate report; The Lease Beat, New York City’s most
comprehensive weekly compendium of commercial real estate deals; The
Sit-Down, a weekly interview with the most powerful people in New York City
commercial real estate; and Prospective Tenants, a weekly column
profiling companies looking for space in New York City. Special pages devoted
to personnel moves by major players, photography from the city’s many
real-estate events and symposia, and a calendar listing events and expected
deals for the week ahead.
The Commercial Observer will contain advertisements
and a classified section. Delivery of the publication will be on Tuesdays
and subscriptions will be available for $240.
