LINDLEY TO FILL AN APPELLATE COURT VACANCY IN THE FOURTH JUDICIAL DEPARTMENT Governor David A. Paterson today announced the appointment of Justice Stephen K. Lindley to fill a vacancy in the Appellate Division, Fourth Judicial Department. “I am proud to nominate such an accomplished and respected jurist to the Appellate Division,” Governor Paterson said. “Justice Lindley’s experience and dedication on the bench will be a tremendous addition to the Appellate Division.” Justice Lindley is a Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, where he has served since January 2007. He previously served as Acting Monroe County Court Judge and Rochester City Court Judge. Prior to being elected to the bench, Justice Lindley served as Deputy Chief of the Appeals Bureau in the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office and as a law clerk in both the trial part and the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court. He resides in Pittsford, New York, with his wife and four children. Justice Lindley graduated from Emory University in 1986. He received his law degree from University of Buffalo Law School in 1989.
