APPLAUDS GOVERNOR’S MTA PROPOSAL AS FIRST STEP
Ball: We Will Not Be Happy Without a Tax Repeal and MTA
Forensic Audit.
 
Assemblyman Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) released a statement Monday applauding Governor Paterson’s proposed changes to the MTA Payroll Tax:
 
“Albany’s beginning to realize that the Hudson Valley cannot
bear the burden of the MTA’s mismanagement. I applaud the Governor for his proposed
changes, but this is just the first step. We will not
be satisfied in the Hudson Valley until the MTA Payroll
Tax is repealed and a forensic audit is conducted.”
 
Prior to the Governor’s announcement, Ball announced he will hold a series
of press conferences on Thursday to unveil a symbolic
check for businesses to use in protest of the MTA Payroll
Tax. Businesses will bring these symbolic checks to
the April 15th Tax Revolt Rally at the Putnam County Courthouse.
