Obama

A Message To My Obama Supporting Friends

It has been no secret on this blog that I am a supporter of Hillary Clinton’s for that I do not apologize. I believe she is the best candidate and I believe she would make the best Presdend. Again no apologies on any of that. But I can count and understand that this is a real uphill fight but let me just say one thing about and to Obama supporters.

Look, I really don't mind at all if Obama wins the nomination, and if he does I would hope he wins big too the general election and all. What's tiring is the talk that he's different, especially the hyperbolic messianic crap that his supporters shamelessly use to hype Obama. The pretending that he's light and Clinton is dark while his votes are not any different than Clinton's; the pretending that he is a progressive leader in the Senate when he is not; the pretending that he's the oracle of change when he's merely mouthing words that David Axelrod recycled from Deval Patrick's winning MA gubernatorial campaign in 2006; and the pretending that he's some sort of vessel that shares your personal values which if its true means your soul succumbs to good marketing.

Hey Obama-philes, Here's Some Truth For You

It seems like a lot of people watched last night's debate. Today, many people have been asking me what "Rezko" was and why Hillary brought it up. They rightfully believed that Obama dodged the explanation and that there was more to the story. Personally, when I heard his explanation (pasted below in bold from the debate transcript), I laughed. His answer proved that he's just another typical politician guilty of typical political follies.

"Here's what happened: I was an associate at a law firm that represented a church group that had partnered with this individual [Rezko] to do a project and I did about five hours worth of work on this joint project. That's what she's referring to."

A Rebuttal to Rock Hackshaw's Libelous Post Regarding the N.H. Primaries

It’s a shame that after such a distinguished and respected trajectory as a political analyst and activist, Rock Hackshaw decided to throw away all of this goodwill by writing such an indefensible pile of dog feces and actually publishing it on this website (available here for your entertainment purposes, if you're entertained by temper tantrums by grown men over politicians).

I very often find myself writing extemporaneous thoughts and think about publishing them on this site or other political blogs, but before I do so, I re-read what I’ve written and ask myself whether this is something that I want the entire world to see. Many times the answer is no and the document stays on my computer for my private use (or deletion). If only Mr. Hackshaw had done the same, he would have saved himself from the embarrassment and tremendous decline in popularity that he should suffer from his current article.

I'm Tired of the Obama Overload!!

Obama, Obama, Obama, Obama

Is anyone as sick as I am about hearing/reading/discussing Barack Obama almost non-stop for the last 3 days? Hey New York newspaper reporters, get a grip on yourselves. This guy isn't John, Paul, George and Ringo and you shouldn't be acting like screaming teeny-boppers watching them get off the plane. With all the coverage this guy's received over the last week, you'd think he'd discovered the cure for cancer, or can at least walk on water and deliver short, catchy parables.

Can someone please explain to me what Barack Obama has done to merit even being considered a Presidential candidate, other than apparently believe his own hype? Granted, he gave a really good speech at the '04 Democratic convention, but if that, and being an African American that white people don't find threatening, is sufficient to become a candidate, then there is definitely something wrong with this system.

Barack Obama as a Presidential Candidate

Okay Barack Obama, the Senator from Illinois, is all over the news. He's considering running for President and has a lot of people encouraging him. Oprah Winfrey practically begged him to run. George Clooney endorsed him. Even David Brooks, the conservative new york times columnist, is encouraging him to run. Donna Brazile, Al Gore's campaign manager, is reportedly already advising him.

So the question becomes, is Barack Obama the real deal? Should he run for President? Would his lack of experience be a factor? Charlie Krauthammer said in his op-ed piece in the Washington Post that he encourages Obama to run, but that he can't win because americans don't elect inexperienced people to the Presidency during wartime.
