Dominic Carter ny1 newsStop and Frisk controversy is growing
Stop and Frisk Part two. The way we discussed it on RNN-TV this week. This as City and state legislators stood side by side with New York's congressional delegation in Washington, D.C. to demand that the Justice Department investigate the New York City Police Department’s controversial stop-and-frisk policies.
Thank You to my fellow Inner Circle Members-You brought tears to my eyes
Had a beautiful, great time this weekend at the Inner Circle Show. The show was a hit on, and off the stage. The packed house meant more proceeds for the dozens of charities helped by the benefit performances. Mayor Bloomberg for his part, was joined by stars Nick Jonas, Beau Bridges and other cast members of “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying.” In this photo is my Aunt Inez with the Mayor.

700 public school workers gone, victims of budget cuts and the blame game
Mayor Michael Bloomberg has cut nearly 700 of the city's public school workers. They are already gone.
Bad night for the White House. Turner takes congressional seat
Democrat David Weprin had stayed away from embracing President Obama, but Republican Bob Turner effectively tied Obama around Weprin’s neck, and it worked.
We now know at this point President Obama will not have political coattails, and could drag down democrats in next years national and state races. Today's Special Election: Weprin/Turner and Obama
Forget that ultimately the seat may be gone thanks to redistricting---the battle for ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner's House seat has come down to today and is a real referendum on President Obama.
Shockingly, polling suggests that in this heavily democratic Queens/Brooklyn district, it’s better to be the Republican, one time unknown challenger, Bob Turner today rather than Democrat David Weprin.
Is Obama in trouble
The good news for President Obama, or any sitting president, the power of incumbency is very tough to win against, and Republicans are having a tough time with their field of candidates. However the bad news: the worst kept secret is Obama’s base is not energized (he will need each and every single vote) and consider the horrible jobs report Friday which shows history is not on Mr. Obama’s side.
Are NYPD "Perp Walks" on the way out
Weiner is on life support. Pelosi says it's time to go. He enters rehab
Congressman Anthony Weiner may, emphasized may, have bought himself some more time as he entered rehab, amid calls from major democrats that it’s time to go, like Nancy Pelosi and DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Pelosi and Wasserman Schultz said Saturday Weiner should resign, calling his sending explicit photos and raunchy emails to women all over the country "indefensible" and a distraction.
With Congressman Weiner, next week will be very interesting
Congressman Anthony Weiner maintains he will not resign over the sex scandal, and anyone that even remotely knows Weiner is aware that he would never step down on his own. Never!
No Smoking in NYC Parks
Let’s start with full disclosure here. I admit I was never a smoker, but it’s hats off to Mayor Bloomberg and the City Council for the new law banning smoking in 43 square miles of parks, public plazas, beaches, and boardwalks in the city. That means no smoking in Central Park, the pedestrian plaza even in Times Square, or again, at the beaches. |
