A few thoughts on this Sunday

Poor Mayor Mike

The mayor is going through major third term blues. Can you say Cathie Black. Now Black is only making matters worse as she didn’t just go away quietly. On the way out as School Chancellor, Black, after just 96 days on the job, raised the sexism card.

Will Paladino apologize for his outrageous thuggish behavior last night

Carl Paladino needs some political maturity, and it can’t come fast enough.

Will he apologize for his outrageous behavior last night.

Did he really think he would get a heartbeat away from becoming governor without scrutiny he doesn’t like.

Aides had to separate Paladino from New York Post State Editor Fred Dicker at an upstate hotel.

What could Dicker possibly do to push Paladino so far “over the edge?”
Dicker did his job.

Andrew is not taking the bait

Disciplined.

You have to give it to Andrew Cuomo. The guy is disciplined and not taking the smear bait of Carl Paladino.

Paladino is throwing everything he can at Cuomo, but Cuomo is turning the other cheek. He’s not going down in the mud with Paladino. (At least not as of yet, and signs are Cuomo is not going to do it.)

Dicker to Spitzer: "The Price Paid For Your Failure ... Could Hardly Be Higher"

via the New York Post

This is a sad follow-up to the open letter I sent you in November in the exciting, hope-filled hours before a historic landslide victory gave you a popular mandate to carry out the reforms you repeatedly promised you were all about.

---

Maybe if you had taken some of my suggestions you could have avoided the disturbing, business-as-usual mess that engulfed and embarrassed our state during the past week - as you desperately abandoned your reform pledges in an unsuccessful effort to get an on-time budget.

Frankly, the price paid for your failure - in terms of the public's money and the severe damage to your reputation - could hardly be higher.
