The author, Ta-Nehisi Coates, mentions the possible downsides to a blanket legalization of all drugs.

Governor Paterson has been on a truth-telling jamboree since he was sworn-in last week. This weeks nugget O' Truth -he used drugs as a young 20-something growing up in the 70's. From the NY1 interview with Dominic Carter:

Carter: Marijuana?
Paterson: Yes.
Carter: Cocaine?
Paterson: Yes.
Carter: You have used cocaine governor?
Paterson: I'd say I was about 22-23. I tried it a few times, yes.
